DUBAI

 

 

Dubai is still a city of cranes..........although the building boom isn't like it was a few years ago.....They claim to have the tallest building in the world.



Museum of Dubai..........the exhibits look real........



The women wore leather shapes on their faces to protect them from the sand in the desert. ......................................

 

Pearl diving around Dubai now has ceased...........the Japanese produce pearls and the UAE cannot compete.................................

Have really enjoyed Dubai, so different to Australia. There are about 20% arabs in Dubai and 80% of tourists and workers.

Weather was hot and very humid, soon it will clear and the tourists will arrive. Very little rain comes to Dubai.

Took a tour of the lights at night, loved it...........especially the 'Palm'.... They have built out into the sea in the shape of the palm, and at night if flying over you can see the shape of palm leaves.

Building their own rail system to make it easier to move around the area.

A driverless rail system is now running in Dubai. However this will not be connected to the palm rail.
