Growing in the side cut, how tough this plant must be - eutaxia - flowers are brown and yellow a very small pea shape .... the foliage is spikey....guess that is to keep animals from eating the plant. Not a very good plant to get a picture....so small.
What a wonderful place the Mallee is.......to some people it would just be Mallee trees, salt bush and weeds... ugh the weeds are everywhere.
If you look at the daisy bush pic,.....in the background the canola is flowering......This break crop is everywhere this year.......such a rich yellow......can see it for miles.....
The late Autumn and spring is flowering time.....plants go into survival mode during the hotter months of the year. So do I!!!
Hope you found the walk in the bush interesting.
Love to all.

Pa is busy getting the spraying of crop weeds finished this week..... with chemicals we can't use after the end of August.......drift could damage the vines and fruit trees nearby. ....Never ending....weeds.
Barley crops are 'spiking' and soon the heads will pop out....Still looking skywards for more rain....
The Murray river is running a' banker'........... with all the water that has fallen on the eastern part of the state.......bridge span is under repair.......the lift needs to go up this week to let the ... Adelaide....steam boat through.......... to get to Mildura.......They will jack it up if the repair work is unfinished.......boat has to go through!........... they usually go under backwards...... Just In Case....something goes wrong.
Love to all. take care.

Today is sunny but a rather strong breeze, the spring winds are starting. Pa is getting ready to put out some urea on the off chance it will rain later in the week. Crops are starting to look "spikey" wont' be long now till the ears will start to appear and start flowering.

Wow, it was sooo.... cold Friday I put on this roaring fire and stayed inside, Pa loved to warm up after golf at Quambatook. I love the fires in winter, just a lovely warmth.
Saturday - Weather was a little better and I have been out in the vegie patch, planted out a new strawberry bed---not very big, hope for some beautiful fruit later.
Puss is inspecting the broccolli, in front, my beetroot is just starting to put on some leaves,at the back the spinch is powering away. Will start working on a area for some tomatoes, not having much luck with them lately---- this year might be the year. This cat comes everywhere with us, but as soon as a stranger comes you can't find him. Always at the door waiting for you, especially if you give him some food.
Bye for now, Love from Nana and Pa take care.
