TRUCK REPAIRS, SOWING CANOLA DOUBLE DAM 2013.

Gear box on truck has broken, Pa is taking out the two shafts and blocking up so dust can't get in. This is a temporary job so we could deliver the grain and then take the truck in for repairs.

Assembling everything to start sowing canola in the double dam paddock. The wings have to be lowered. Reminds Nana of how the boys line up all the toys and play with them. The canola will be sown into dry soil, no rain as yet.

Back view of the one of the banks of rollers, there are three.

Merc Benz truck with the super, Tractor, and seeder, rollers have been disconnected. Not very clear hope you can work out how everything works!!

Hoping for lots of rain, then we can really start the cropping in earnest. It has been very dry, their hasn't been a decent rain since last September, had some small showers that don't make the ground very wet.
May is nearly here, 4 months of the year have just come and gone so quickly.
Hope all are well, and that Spring has arrived in the UK after such a cold and snowy winter.
Love you all.

LILY AND EXTENDED FAMILY HAPPENINGS.

Nana had to share this picture of a Blood Lily with you all, they flower then only have two big leaves just like a elephant. That's it, then they go dormant for the rest of the year. Very beautiful.

Brunch at Spoons, 14th April to celebrate Lyle's 60th birthday. Happy Birthday.

Pa with his cousin, Ivy and daughters Rosslyn Port Fairy and Jean from Darwin. Sunday 21st April 2013

Nana and Pa with Rosslyn and cousin Ivy 21st April 2013. Port Fairy.

Not a very clear picture - Fleur the beautiful - butterfly dog and Ivy.

Nana and Pa left Saturday evening for Port Fairy and we had a big kangaroo jump out from the side of the road which gave us a big scare, Saw lots of wallabies on the side of the road after that, but no more  kangaroo's jumping out - thank goodness. Coming home Sunday we kept an eye out for the Kangaroo at the place we remembered seeing it, and YES it was there again but on the side of the road.
Bye for now,

FAMILY, AND PIONEER SETTLEMENT

Nana and Pa with our wonderful UK family, thanks for coming all the way to Australia to visit us, WE ARE SO BLESSED what a great two weeks we had together. Congratulations to the Birthday girl for having her 5th birthday with us as well.
Pa at the shed with smooth the dog and Kaye from QLD, we have been spoilt with everybody travelling such long distances to get together.

Having fun with the baby animals at the Pioneer Settlement, These grand children's  Mum had quinea pigs as pets- especially GP a lovely white one.
Feeding the lambs, they were very hungry and drank up their milk and wanted more.

Pa with QLD family, thanks for visiting, loved the time spent together.

Nana saying goodbye to QLD family.

Time flew by so fast, weather was beautiful, now everybody is back home, at work and school.
Grandies have grown up so fast, doing wonderful things as well.
Love you all.

BRIGHTON ON THE PARK

Dad cooking the BBQ for the birthday girl, yum looks wonderful. A great set of units, especially this one as the window opens directly onto the entertainment area. We could wander in and out without getting in the way of the kitchen.

Some had lots of fun with face painting.

BIRTHDAY CAKE.
Thanks Auntie Hels, we all enjoyed eating this wonderful cake. Birthday girl's Mum organised the top for the cake, it is edible, sparklers have stopped burning, the candles looked great.
Playing at the park. There is a gate that connects the flats to this park and the playground is lots of fun.
We had a wonderful day, loved the trip on Puffing Billy. Kids hung out the windows and watched the scenery go past. Wish I had taken the camera and had some photo's.
Happy 5th birthday Amira.
Love to everybody from

S0 many Easter Eggs, think everybody loved the chocolate fix.
Having trouble with computer so this is a trial post.
Love this picture of the children in the flowers.

Nana forget to take her camera on the Puffing Billy trip, what a wonderful day that was. Everybody loved hanging out of the windows, as the train puffed its way around bends, over bridges and slowly going up the mountain. Steam billowing around the carriages, Oh it was so much fun.
Everybody please send some photo's, can't wait to see them.
Love to all

EASTER AT NANA AND PA'S 2013

2013 - Easter has arrived, we have been waiting for ages to see our UK family, at last they are here.
Just to add to the excitement we had a group of hang gliders land on our farm. They had flown about 60 Kilometers, excited family pointing at the gliders coming into land.

Standing in front of a glider that has landed. They are so big and had many colours, this one was yellow,  the red one looked lovely as well. They were folded up and took up very little space then were loaded up on to vehicles and you wouldn't have know they had flown into our paddock.
Bear from UK school has come half way around the world to have some Australian adventures.  Photo's and story will be lots of fun to put together for the children in London.

Visited a Pioneer Settlement and played on the old fire engines, tried on the hats. Had a great time looking around, there were old shops, houses and farm machinery. Road in a vintage car, also had a ride in a horse drawn covered cart. There is so much to see and do, next time will go for a ride on a paddle steamer there as well. Took some sandwiches to eat in their beautiful surrounds.
Played in the lake, tried to row, swam and built castles in the sand.

Some tried their hand at building with the lego.
What a surprise, you can make pictures as well as making models, loved the ideas they came up with.

Pa took us for a ride in his big truck.

It was a long way down to the ground, needed a helping hand. It was great fun sitting in the cabin and going for a ride with Pa.

Look at the big wheels on the tractor, 5 of us can fit in.

Time has flown so fast, everybody has gone home.
We managed to sleep all over the place, on the floor, in a tent, on the back of a ute and Nana and Pa have a bed in a barn.
It was so enjoyable to have everybody around.
Now we have a 5th birthday on 11th April to go to. How the 5 years have flown since I went to the UK for her arrival. Happy Birthday.
Love to everybody and many thanks for such a lovely time together.
